Pip Hare is only the eighth woman to have ever completed the gruelling solo, non-stop and without assistance round-the-world sailing race, the Vendée Globe. Her incredible skill and unrelenting endurance saw her successfully complete 24,365 miles in just 95 days. Not satisfied with just finishing one Vendée Globe, Pip will be embarking on her second circumnavigation in 2024, with a newer, faster boat. It has not been an easy journey – as a woman in a male dominated sport and an older woman competing for sponsors, she has been told multiple times throughout her career she cannot or should not be aiming so high.
